morning

i have nothing to give

i raise my arms to touch the sun
filtering through the window onto the wall.
i run a hand through my hair
and think:

about you,
about the frost,
about dreams,
about this unusual and quiet monday morning.

time sweeps by and the morning quietly turns.
i raise my eyes to meet You here.
i run a hand over dusty shelves
and think:

about love,
about your promises,
about mercies,
about this really, really lovely miracle monday morning.

learning: maybe this will be okay.
