a novel

http://fellowmagazine.com/blogs/journal/73105923-hostel-fish

after i left,
i realized i had nothing to say.
no big finish,
no complete summary.

nothing.

but i had the small things
to write a novel about.

the way you linger on hugs longer,
and the pain in your heart because you didn't want to leave.
the way she looked down and fiddled with her hands,
as if she almost let a piece of her heart slip through.
and the way you clutch your stomach,
after laughing way too hard at nothing.

and the way i will miss you after every goodbye.

now,
those things...

those things i could write a novel about.

i'm not as ready as i thought i was.

  1. i could write a novel with our conversations.

it'd be called: "Camp. The Weather. And How freaking much Jordy despises the ugly guy on Starwars."

as always this post makes me want to cry, but I won't because holiday is watching and she'd never let it go. XD

  2. ugh

    I'm weird 'cause I hate goodbyes. :-P

I have a hard time EVERY STINKING TIME we get together, but especially when it's a big group because I'm all like.... I don't know. I just feel like there was not enough. I want enough time to talk and relate and be us, so much time that we stop talking about what's going on in our lives and start talking about the way the sky looks and the way God binds all the broken pieces together and the feel of the wind. Or get to the moment when we've run out of all the things to say and we just sit there together, in a silence that is mutually joyful, lovely, and pure, knowing that God is speaking, and that is all we need to hear, because He is who we have in common anyway.

Simply put, I miss you and I cannot wait for the Wedding Banquet of the Lamb, where there will no more have to be goodbyes, and we won't have to worry about trying to fit it all into a time limit, because there will be eternity.
