to my girl (guest poem by elisabeth from a flyleaf)

creds to tumblr

to the girl who sang the moon to sleep
braiding her tears into streams of rainbows

my girl who laughed a thousand storms
face freckled with the dawn’s scattered light
she who stole the stars
scattering them across the heavens
in a gradient of magical colours

when i run before she comes
and silence meets her call
the last leaf withers
and the first snow falls

i would wait to see her
tell her i’m sorry, and goodbye
but i’m not good at either
(no one says goodbye
when they’re not ready to leave)

so the stars are laughing now
darling it's time for me to fly
(sorry, and goodbye)
