i was made for the things that hurt you
until your breath falters and you can barely breathe
i was made for the heartache that hits you
when you're missing someone long gone

i was made for the long goodbyes that hurt your soul
because you can never get them back
i was made for the pain that breaks your heart
instead of your frail bones

i'm made of the things that i find abandoned
tangled and lost streams of thoughts,
words left unsaid, and ones written down and thrown in the trash

i'm made of love that never knows when to stop,
so i find myself almost pushed overboard with it
i'm made with a fragile heart
that does not know when to stop accepting these things

but even in all of that,
i'm not quite sure all of what i'm made of
though, i know that i'm stitched together
by the Artist of the universe

and he is Enough for me.
