Words Passing You By

I sat with you, watching the campers slowly come down the rappelling wall. We'd yell encouragement and give high fives once they hit the bottom. Then we'd wait again for another camper to descend.

The sun was slowly descending, but it was alright. It was slowly telling us that this time was going to be gone soon. That night would fall and that we'd be one day closer to leaving each other again.

I didn't pay any attention to it.

Because there's no use in staying stuck in the time passing when you could be in the moment.

You handed me a paper, and I was surprised. I grinned up at you, opening the paper. And I read, my eyes soaking in these words that were made for me. 

"I love you," would have done it. But you wrote more than that.

It was almost too much for me, I must say. In the mountains with my favorite people and words written to me?

Mmm, God couldn't have planned it better.

He couldn't have planned our friendship better.

(except maybe letting us live together forever and ever, but you know...)

Community is good. God is good. Camp is good. Friendships are good.
