perhaps

//

-

my fingers slide across the cold glass
i sigh as i look outside the window
the world is green and fresh
but me?
i am brown withering grass,
hiding behind all that is great and wonderful
but perhaps someday i will heal
perhaps be something more

  1. Beautiful. And yes, perhaps you can be something more! Something that I was taught in Bio was that when something dies, it's atoms and molecules are recycled and cling onto other things... like, we may have breathed in some atoms from asteroids or shooting stars or a thing that is equally as lovely as that.

    1. Oh man, I forget about that kind of stuff. But so much yes. Because that is quite a beautiful thought...to have stardust running through my veins.

  5. I'm not sure if it's just me, but I realised that most of your poems have the theme of hope and longing, which is a complex idea to portray, yet you've managed to express it well. :) Withering grass might die, but it'll contribute to the nutrients in the soil eventually, and help in the growth of other plants. Helping others to survive is definitely something great, something more. :)
