to the ocean blue

i pack sand into the molds,

building sandcastles.

building walls.

the tide is too low to reach my sandcastle.

a false safety.

a prideness.

so i create walls, and i speak words.

so i watch you build your own and i laugh at you.

too close to the ocean; it will never last.

if only you were like me!

the high tide comes and sweeps me off my feet.

sweeps my pride and safety away from me.

if only i had built on promises that would last

instead of little earthly things that can be taken.

you have much to teach me.

i have much to learn.
