Sometimes you don't realize it until you're too far gone
until you are on the other side of the mountain
until you can't make it back
Sometimes the day is sunny and the world is okay
for one minute, everything around you is okay
but you aren't
How do you make it back to a place you once called home?
Because I'm too far gone.
I didn't know it until I was out in the middle of the sea,
the waves taking me away from shore -- not to it
out into the cold, harsh, terrible world
You see the sun on the horizon, yeah?
it's going down.
I'll be lost with the sea. I'll be stuck with the moon and the stars. The clouds that hum a lullaby as they catch the stardust.
But I'll make it.
I'll sit with my fireflies in a jar, humming with the clouds. I'll wait patiently until the sun comes back up.
I'll watch as the nebula collapse and stars burst forth. I'll sway as my ol' rickety boat bears through the night with the waves of the sea. I'll see night sky in full glory before the day returns.
Maybe being lost isn't too bad.
Maybe being far too gone for one thing means being close to another thing.
Another adventure. Another sunrise. Another day closer to eternity.
And another day to cry, another day to feel pain, another day to hurt.
And a billion more to heal.
"Maybe being lost isn't too bad"
ReplyDeleteBeing lost is a natural part of life. Being lost can sometimes be a good thing. Being lost is what makes us learn
