I watched as she wrote
her words written on her frail bones
from her mountain heart
Her laughter was like a soft rainfall
but her tears burned everything they touched
she was mesmerizing
Oh, but then I saw her face
her face shone like the sky as the sun was falling
I couldn't quite take in another breath --
I was too afraid she'd disappear
like all beautiful things do.
Why do beautiful things have to disappear? :'( WHYYY???

Aw, thank you! Oh man. That just hits me deep down. Because writing is like....woah. And just...agh. Thank you.
DeleteI interpreted this poem as describing the fear of letting go. Just describing the loved one with aspects of nature like mountains and rainfall meant that the person you described was really as genuine and as pure as nature itself. Those are the attributes of the person that the writer had valued most, and I think the final line about comparing her to the sky/sun, was really interesting. The writer knows that the sky will always exist as to how nature is always present, but the idea of the sun setting scares the writer the most, because it would mean that she would be out of the writer's sight. The writer fears losing her though he knows that she's there and always will be. Beautiful poem. Wonderful read. :)
